It is a hardcore beach destination noted for its wildly entertaining nightlife. Strangely, the city that is known for its discos and cabaret bars also has a treasure of historic monuments such as the Big Buddha Temple. Here is a brief description of some of the most valuable sites in Pattaya,

The Sanctuary of Truth

Visiting the Sanctuary of Truth was the best part of our Pattaya tour. The admission fee was 500 baht per adult. If you are an art lover you should never miss this site. The structure, a combination of palace and temple, is one of the finest examples of ancient Thai and Indian temple architecture. The meticulously carved wooden tower is 105 meters tall and is surrounded by sea on all three sides. The majestic Thai structure is located on a small piece of land jutting into the sea, overlooking the Gulf of Thailand.

Koh Larn

Your holiday in the beach city of Pattaya cannot be complete without visiting Koh Larn – the best beach in the city. The exotic beach with clear waves washing into the white sand offers a perfect atmosphere for a relaxing family holiday. The seawater at this beach appears greenish-blue in color owing to its rich marine flora. Boat rides to coral islands and parasailing are some of the top tourist activities you can engage in.

Big Buddha Temple

Visiting the Big Buddha Temple in Bang Lamung District was a rejuvenating and humbling experience. Entry is free but we paid around 200 baht to reach the spot. The sight of the huge golden statue of Buddha at this hilltop temple invokes a larger-than-life feeling. Located on the Pratumnak Hill, the Buddhist temple is popular for this 18-meter tall colossal statue. The steps that lead to the statue are guarded by fierce-looking, seven-headed golden dragons. From the top, we also enjoyed the panoramic views of the city and the sea.

The animals generally spotted out here are alligators, snakes, wild lizards, etc. There is a boardwalk that took us through the enchanting wetlands covered with water lilies. We also visited an observatory tower that offered incredible views of the entire place.

The Crescent

Visiting this 19th-century mansion was like stepping back in time. The royal neoclassical structure was constructed in 1898. Later on, it was extensively restored and converted into a tourist attraction. The highlight of the spot is its 2-story portico and the grand-looking interiors. The mansion is surrounded by a beautiful French garden that has a small chapel and a reflection pool. The tour was quite interesting, thanks to our tour guide who helped us with the history and significance of the structure.

Wild Adventures Theme Park

Visiting Wild Adventures was one of the main reasons to halt in Valdosta. The zoological theme park that includes a water park, a wildlife exhibit, and some thrilling rides is a perfect family holiday destination. The admission fee was $49 per person. Compared to the price, the place offers all the fun and adventure you can ask for. There is also a barbeque service that offers great food and refreshments.
